If you are traveling by public transport, please contact the museum or the companies that you will be traveling with.

Vemork Power Station
The hydroelectric powerplant was raised in 1911, and was in operation until 1971.
Famous for its importance during the war, and also its affliction to the industrial history of Norway.
The power station is located 7 km to the west of Rjukan.

The museum can be found roughly 3 km to the east of Rjukan
The Rjukan Railway
Mæl Station Area and Ferry Landing is the sight when you want to visit The Rjukan Railway. We provide guided tours and a small Coffee House in old Mæl Railway Station. Out of season, please contact the museum. We look forward to meet your request.
The station is located roughly 15 km to the east of Rjukan.
Heddal Open Air Museum
Heddal Open Air Museum is a short walk from Heddal Stave Church, approximatley 6 km west of Notodden. This is an open air museum with various buildings that represent farming history. The only exception is Fyrileivstua which was moved here from the city.
Notodden Town is the location of the art gallery and museum. You can see a permanent Exhibition regarding the origin og Hydro, and how the collaboration between Birkeland and Eyde began. The gallery presents four to five exhibitions every year.
